Next week Dutty Artz and Kafundó Records team up once again to present Volume 2 of their compilation series of Brazilian Underground Electronic Music. The album premiered in full yesterday on Vice’s Thump blog alongside a profile on Kafundó Records by the one and only Greg Scruggs. This volume is a continuation of the first, presenting a who’s who of the budding scenes in cities like Rio, São Paulo, Recife, and Salvador. What they continue to have in common is a shared interest in exploring Afro & Indigenous Brazilian rhythmic traditions — updating them for a 21st Century club-going audience.
