Que Bajo this Saturday October 11th

Que Bajo is back at Court Square Studios in Long Island City this Saturday!

This month we’ll have party buses transporting people to the show, video mapping over the crowd, new video art by Zilla, agua de panela for the dance crew, and keeping the dancefloor doing what it do. Sounds provided by Uproot Andy, Las Nenas Rudas  (Azucar NYC/CUTN PASTE PHL), and direct from MEXICO: Disque DJ, the owner the Tropic-All Blog.

We’re keeping busy creating new video art for the party and we want you to be a part of the process. At this event, we’ll have a green screen set up in the side room where you can come bust a move and be a part of the visuals for the November anniversary party. We’re also being proactive in recruiting some really great dancers in order to make this NYC’s dance mecca, so make sure you do your part and let your dance partners know by word of mouth or social media. You’re the biggest reason this party has been going on and we’re on a serious mission to make it yours.

DISQUE DJ (Mexico) is the owner and founder of the Tropic all label, bringing some of the best sucia mixes and EPs from all of sudaamerica.  With 14 years under his DJ belt, Disque DJ is a veteran in the Mexican party scene. He grew up surrounded by the Sonidero movement, a main influence which led him to become of the main djs/producers of mashups in Mexico circa 2006. He has opened for South America’s finest from Barbosonicos, Kinky, Cartel de Santa, and  international artists like Toy Selectah, Maluca, Paula Devo, Poirier, Cooly G, and DJ Sabo. Nenas Rudas (I$LA & Precolumbian)

I$LA is the founder, producer and resident DJ of AZUCAR. This LA grrrl blends her love of island and border sounds with 90s hip hop, pop, and electronic beats. She is one half of Las Nenas Rudas with Philly’s Precolumbian, taking over dance floors with a mixture of global bass and shameless popl. PRECOLUMBIAN is a Philadelphia based genderqueer DJ and musician. Hailing from Lima, she has been transforming dance floors from Brooklyn to Mexico City, sharing the stage with Big Freedia, Kid Sister, Mykki Blanco, and more.
