If you’ve been to an iBomba party at Bembe, you know that it’s good vibes all around. We spend a lot of time curating a space that feels good for everyone, where maybe you learn a thing or two about a genre of music, discover one of our guest djs for your weekly playlist, or expand your community. We’re proud of what we’ve created and are so excited to be announcing a brand new iBomba on a brand new day of the week! From now on, Beto and I (Ushka) are doing iBomba once a month on a Thursday (every 2nd Thursday of the month).

If you were around in July for the Latin Alternative Music Conference, you may have attended one of iBomba’s unofficial closing and opening LAMC parties featuring guest djs from the FeX, Sonic Diaspora, and Soulphonetics crews such as Itzinallah, Itch13, Afroqbano, Brotha Onaci, Caswell James, Christian Vera, and performers Rafi El and impromptu appearance byZuzuka Poderosa. We’re bringing it back this week on Thursday, September 12th, with our Bolivian guest, Sonido Martines. Sonido Martines is a tireless record-digger and sought-after remixer, known for turning classic (& obscure) cumbias into dancefloor bangers. He is based in La Paz, Bolivia, but travels widely around South America for record digging and DJing. He’s definitely one of the finest cumbia selector and tropical crate diggers out there.
