Dom La Nena- “Batuque” (Jeremy Sole & Atropolis Remix)

In August of 2013,  I was on a small tour throughout Cali and was kicking it with Jeremy Sole, the man behind LA’s legendary Afro Funke Party, as well as The Lift, and radio host at KCRW.  He mentioned that he was doing a remix for Dom La Nena and asked if I wanted to team up with him on the production.

Unfamiliar with her work, I was immediately drawn to her stunning voice, and became an instant fan.  Once I returned to New York, the bi-coastal collaboration began.  Jeremy planted the seed for what influenced the first draft, he imaged a trap like kuduro barefoot production.  After about a month of emailing the production file back and forth, we finally arrived at this.

Big up to Six Degrees Records, and of course Dom La Nena for this amazing opportunity to work with such beautiful music.
