On the occasion of its 6 year anniversary, Dutty Artz is proud to present the second in a four part series of geographically-oriented EPs that make up the 6 Years Deep compilation (part 1 here):

Highlighted on this EP are a collection of original productions by Dutty Artz members and extended family, featuring established and up and coming artists from the Caribbean. In These Times (Tek Yuh Life) is a brooding collaboration between Trawma, a 24 year old Portmore deejay, and Robzilla, a close collaborator of Matt Shadetek’s. Robzilla describes the track as, “a statement about the backbiting and badmind that confront a young man in day-to-day Jamaican life. Trawma presents a bleak landscape, and a young fire that will burn through.” Next up is Kush Arora’s highly demanded remix of Wine Slow by Gyptian, from his recently released project on VP records. Third in line is Chill, a Brooklyn club tune by Old Money and Mega Max. Mega enlisted his uncle to chat in Kreyol embodying a figure the team describes as Haitian Diddy! And finally a classic Dutty Artz production by Matt Shadetek from Jahdan Blakkamoore’s Buzzrock Warrior, the project that launched Dutty Artz 6 years ago!

The cover for the Caribbean edition of the 6 Years Deep series is a painting by Aaron Douglas, the same artist that did the cover for Paul Gilroy’s The Black Atlantic.
