This Saturday, March 14, we are bringing the Julius Eastman Memorial Dinner to Pittsburgh! The event is being presented by the Warhol Museum, and will be held at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Tickets/info. A few years ago I DJed a party at the Warhol with Questlove; it’s great to return. Also I am a huge Andy Warhol fan, he made so many things possible, giant American genius with a great wig. (Reminding myself: I should reread The Philosophy of Warhol by Andy Warhol.) To top things off, it is the birthday of JEMD vocalist Arooj Aftab. So, come on out! Here’s a nice preview article from Pittsburgh Tribute-Review.

My monthly party Picó Picante touches down tonight in Boston, bringing the East Coast debut of SVNTV MVERTE, a.k.a. Sines and Panchitron of the Freshmore label and Bombón Houston extended family, to bringing their Tejano border perspective to the club.

This weekend we’re taking full advantage of having SVNTV MVERTE on the East Coast; Saturday we’ll head down to Brooklyn to throw a party at Bizarre, where Selecta K7 hosted Africainoir a few weeks back. I’ll be playing both dates, along with resident Ultratumba, Xicago’s Afroboy, and Picó co-producer and immigrant rights advocate Xo.E.Ling.

Hola, hola hola from Bogotá!

Tonight I’ll be at parche central location El Candelario in Bogotá for the second edition of la Fiesta Global parties that debuted last month with Uproot Andy.

I’m excited to be sharing DJ duties with Mixpak Records hermana Jubilee also in town from NYC, who’s about to drop her Jealous EP on March 3rd.
